FDOT awards $243M contract to reconstruct portion of US 19 in Pinellas

The Florida Department of Transportation has awarded a $243 million project along U.S. Highway 19 to Johnson Bros. Corp., a subsidiary of Texas-based Southland Holdings LLC.

The project, which will span approximately 3 miles just outside of Clearwater’s city limits, seeks to transform a portion of U.S. 19 into a six-lane, controlled-access roadway with frontage roads on both sides for business access. Construction is slated to begin next year and be finished by 2029.
